Humor. The reason we have configured ourselves into human form is to experience humor. It’s infinitely abstruse, the disparity in how much suffering and joy humans endure within the same lifetime. It is very confusing, which makes this whole experience both extremely sorrowful and, consequently, extremely amusing. The variables that determine the dynamics of good and bad, rich and poor, life and death can only be tolerated and therefore understood through the lens of humor. Life is a mix of extremes, and the balance created by the constant fluctuations between opposing forces is what makes life so beautiful. Life is extremely beautiful because there are children who are starving while there’s a billionaire deciding on whether to get another yacht. This offends you because you think some things are sacred. You are bound by the chains of morality that you have allowed to shackle you. Truth is, nothing is sacred because it all is. You can either not joke about anything at all, and you will never offend anyone or anything (this is not possible because, according to your rules, there must always be a ‘victim’), or you can joke about everything because no one and nothing is above the other. I choose the latter because then we are all offenders and victims simultaneously, and that crosses out into what we already are, formidable beings, because of our flaws. This shit is too funny.
